The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximillian thuds a left hand into Mendes's body.
Rafa Mendes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maximillian fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mendes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Mendes throws a combination that misses
enabling Maximillian to counter with a crisp jab.
Mendes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Maximillian lands a big uppercut and Mendes crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mendes looks OK. Maximillian waves Mendes back to his feet!

Oh Mendes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Maximillian pushes Mendes against the cage. Maximillian is working some dirty boxing. Maximillian pushes off with a quick right hook! Mendes goes down! Mendes tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Maximillian moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
