Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Studge!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, SJ Gamer!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gamer misses with a takedown attempt - Studge sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Studge misses its target.
Gamer fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gamer connects with a body shot that sends Studge's belly button to the back.
Gamer tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Studge counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gamer shoots in for a takedown but Studge shows good takedown defense.
Gamer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Danny Studge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of SJ Gamer.
Studge misses with a body shot.
Gamer lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Gamer shoots and misses
letting Studge counter with a right hand.
Gamer shoots in looking for a takedown but Studge manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gamer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A quick step to the side and Studge tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Studge digs a right hand underneath Gamer's ribcage. Gamer let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Studge throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

I was talking to Studge's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Studge lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gamer or not.
Studge lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Studge scores with a nice hook to the head.
Studge lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gamer backwards.
Studge lands a body shot in the clinch.
Nice body punch from Studge - that landed with a thud.
Studge lands a shot to the body.
Gamer takes a shot to the head.
Studge lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gamer backwards.
Studge lands with a short head shot on the inside.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gamer's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Studge creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Gamer with a big uppercut! Gamer tries to clinch up but Studge pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Gamer to the mat! Gamer covers up and Studge unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Danny Studge!
Danny Studge is the new lightweight champion!
A less than humble Danny Studge misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
