And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jonathan Washington!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Washington darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ellis gets full guard.
Washington stands and throws Ellis's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Washington tries to stand but Ellis controls the position and pulls Washington into his guard.
Washington throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellis is controlling Washington's posture.
Washington wants to pass the guard but Ellis is keeping the position.
Washington looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Ellis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Washington is just riding it out for now. Ellis eventually gives up the hold.

Ellis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Washington doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ellis.

Jonathan Washington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Washington feints and as Ellis raises his hands in defense, Washington changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Washington wants to stand and escape but instead Ellis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
