Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Georges Laraque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony Banner will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Laraque!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Banner!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner misses with a two punch combination.
Banner throws a big shot that misses.
Laraque seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Laraque moves into the clinch successfully.
Banner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Banner tries to bum rush Laraque with a series of wild strikes but Laraque uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A punch combination from Laraque misses.
Tony Banner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laraque throws a left and a right that both miss
and Banner counters with a straight right hand.
Banner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Laraque.
Banner lands a nice hook to Laraque's body. Laraque takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Laraque throws a series of punches but Banner avoids them all with ease.
Laraque swats away the attempt to clinch by Banner.
Banner misses with a double jab.
Banner throws a lazy head kick
and Laraque counters with a crisp one two that drops Banner! Laraque thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Banner to his feet! Banner is in big trouble!
Banner looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Banner throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Laraque.
Laraque looks to land a combination but Banner avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Laraque swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Banner counters with a nice body shot.
Laraque darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Laraque misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Banner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Banner closes the distance and clinches.
Laraque's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Laraque lands a left and a right that send Banner crashing to the mat, dazed. Laraque thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Banner is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Banner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Banner is still on wobbly legs! Can Laraque finish him?
Banner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Laraque tries to avoid it but Banner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Laraque to the ground. Laraque escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Laraque has cracked Banner with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Laraque lands another huge swinging hook and Banner tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Banner, before Laraque can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Georges Laraque!
