The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rovanov closes the distance but Hirvi moves to the side
and Hirvi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rovanov darts in looking for a takedown but Hirvi gets double underhooks and turns Rovanov into the cage.
Hirvi jabs Rovanov right on the nose. Rovanov blinks but takes it well.

It looks like Maxim Rovanov has been cut.
Rovanov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A swing and a miss from Rovanov.

Hirvi has closed the distance and engaged Rovanov in a clinch.
Rovanov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hirvi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hirvi drops Rovanov onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Rovanov is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Rovanov is still on wobbly legs! Can Hirvi finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hirvi dips a shoulder and cracks Rovanov with a mighty uppercut! Rovanov falls back against the cage and Hirvi unloads with a barrage of strikes! Rovanov is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Hirvi screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
