Obliteratii comes to the cage accompanied by Walkürenritt. McGuire has chosen Black Stone Cherry - White Trash Millionaire as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Obliteratii cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The fighters circle momentarily. McGuire darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Zeus Obliteratii's cut is getting worse.

and Obliteratii counters with a nice body shot.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McGuire has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

McGuire changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

McGuire dives in and grabs Obliteratii's left leg, looking for a takedown. Obliteratii pushes down on McGuire's head and hops out.

Charles McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Obliteratii counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McGuire's jab looks to have found its range, popping Obliteratii under the eye.
Obliteratii tries a head kick but it misses.
McGuire wants to slow Obliteratii down by chopping away at his legs.
Obliteratii misses the shot to the body.
A jab from Obliteratii finds it's way through McGuire's defenses.
McGuire looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
McGuire tries to clinch but Obliteratii is having none of it.
It looked like Obliteratii wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Obliteratii throws a head kick but McGuire moves out of range.
Obliteratii keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Obliteratii lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McGuire scores with a nice head shot.

McGuire closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

McGuire swings for the body but Obliteratii moves out of range.

McGuire uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Obliteratii.
McGuire looks to clinch
letting Obliteratii counter with a right hand.

McGuire is rocked!
McGuire bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Obliteratii's head backwards.
McGuire throws a lazy head kick

and Obliteratii counters with a nice right hand that sends McGuire toppling to the canvas! McGuire scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Obliteratii finish him?!
McGuire is still on wobbly legs! Can Obliteratii finish him?
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Obliteratii moves out of range of the strikes.
McGuire throws a poor cross that misses
and Obliteratii counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks McGuire out cold! What a finish! Obliteratii is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Zeus Obliteratii!
A relieved looking Zeus Obliteratii thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
