Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Archie Griffiths (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Matador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Archie Griffiths!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, El Matador!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matador closes the distance and pushes Griffiths back into the cage.
Matador misses with an elbow over the top.
Griffiths misses with a body punch.
Griffiths goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Griffiths lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Matador or not.
Griffiths takes an elbow to the temple.
Matador throws an elbow that misses.
Griffiths lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Matador backwards.
Griffiths blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
A nice right hand lands inside from Griffiths.

Griffiths pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Griffiths connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Matador wants to clinch up but Griffiths keeps it at a distance.

Griffiths is doing well to control the position and prevent Matador from advancing to side control.
Griffiths is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at HFC Training Center that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Matador is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Griffiths is just riding it out for now. Matador eventually gives up the hold.

Matador is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Griffiths sees it coming and defends easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Matador thows a huge punch but Griffiths dodges it nicely.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Griffiths tries to get to full guard but Matador has control of the leg.

Griffiths stuns Matador with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

El Matador seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Griffiths breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Matador shoots in but Griffiths avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Griffiths throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Matador on the side of the head.
Matador drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Griffiths counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Matador throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Griffiths's waist but Griffiths gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Matador off to one side.
Archie Griffiths has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Matador.
Griffiths comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Good work by Matador as he checks the leg kick.

Matador shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Griffiths napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Matador shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffiths but Griffiths pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Griffiths is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Matador shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Griffiths sprawls well. Griffiths wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Matador gets slowly back to his feet.

Matador shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Griffiths pinned against the cage. Griffiths gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Griffiths walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Matador drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Griffiths swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Matador's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Archie Griffiths!
After the fight, Archie Griffiths was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
