The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pennypacker swivels and escapes.
We've been informed that Murphy has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Pennypacker fails in his attempt to clinch.

Pennypacker moves into range and clinches up with Murphy.
Murphy is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Murphy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Murphy's corner calls for a 1-2. Murphy obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Murphy is looking to clinch but Pennypacker is avoiding it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pennypacker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Murphy! But no joy.

Murphy lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Pennypacker backwards.
Pennypacker tries a knee to the head but Murphy blocks it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Murphy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Murphy is rocked!
Pennypacker creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Murphy with a big uppercut! Murphy tries to clinch up but Pennypacker pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Murphy to the mat! Murphy covers up and Pennypacker unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

A very excited looking AG Pennypacker rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
