The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandelay throws a lazy right hand but Pickens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vandelay bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pickens's head backwards.
Slim Pickens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vandelay throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pickens sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Vandelay misses the shot to the body.
Vandelay swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pickens counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Pickens misses with an uppercut. Vandelay saw that one coming.
Pickens swings for the body but Vandelay moves out of range.
Vandelay fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pickens manages to avoid it.
Vandelay lands with a good body shot.
Pickens has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Donk. Vandelay catches Pickens right on the button with a cross.
Pickens swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pickens rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Vandelay counters with a stiff right hand.
Pickens throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pickens throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vandelay darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Vandelay tests Pickens's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Vandelay uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pickens.

Pickens moves away from the strike by Vandelay.
Vandelay is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Vandelay fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Pickens misses with a hook
and Vandelay cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Pickens is rocked!
Vandelay avoids the body shot from Pickens.
Pickens is still on wobbly legs! Can Vandelay finish him?
Vandelay plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Pickens to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Pickens just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
