Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yasuhiro Akagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akagi comes to the cage accompanied by Nash the Slash - American Band. Jose Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yasuhiro Akagi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Silva!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jose Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akagi misses with a looping left.
Akagi throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Akagi moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromSilva.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Akagi's half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Akagi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Silva throws a big right hand that misses.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Silva shoots in for a takedown but Akagi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Silva doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Akagi stuffs the takedown.
Akagi tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
A right-left combo lands from Silva.
Akagi works Silva's body with a nice hook.
Silva misses with a wild combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Yasuhiro Akagi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Silva.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Akagi looks to land a right hand but Silva moved out of range.
Akagi closes the distance and lands a one-two.


Silva is rocked!

Akagi cracks Silva with a left hook right on the temple and Silva goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Akagi lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Silva is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yasuhiro Akagi!

A less than humble Yasuhiro Akagi misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
