PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Von Peon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Paulik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Von Peon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tony Paulik!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paulik misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Peon misses the shot to the body.
Peon throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Paulik closes the distance and clinches up with Peon, looking for a takedown. Paulik pushes Peon against the cage but Peon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Peon feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pauliks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Paulik shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peon as he avoids it easily.
Peon has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Von Peon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Paulik.
Paulik goes for a double leg but Peon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peon continues to drive forward.
Paulik tries to move into range but Peon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Peon lands a big right hand that sends Paulik crashing to the mat! Peon stays standing though and waves Paulik back to his feet!

It looks like Tony Paulik has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Paulik tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Paulik somewhat.
Peon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Paulik sees it coming and avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Peon feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Paulik sprawling to the canvas! Paulik rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Peon finish him?!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Peon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Paulik seems to have recovered his senses.
BAM! Peon delivers a spinning backfist that drops Paulik like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Von Peon decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
