Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ato Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erling Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erling Koch!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez scores with a one two! Koch had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Koch takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Velasquez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Koch counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Erling Koch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Velasquez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Touch Of Death Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Koch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Velasquez.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Koch has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Koch is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Velasquez had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Koch will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Velasquez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Koch moves away from the strike by Velasquez.
Koch misses with an uppercut
and Velasquez counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Koch! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
