The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph lands a nice hook to Beijer's body. Beijer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Beijer looks for a takedown but Joseph sprawls well.
Joseph throws a nice inside leg kick.
Beijer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Beijer just misses with a punch to the body.
Beijer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Beijer is breathing heavily.
That kick from Joseph tenderised Beijer's leg. Beijer is trying to keep his angry face on.
Beijer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Joseph.

and Joseph counters with a stiff right hand.
Beijer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Anthony Joseph is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice takedown defense from Joseph. No joy for Beijer on that attempt.
Joseph appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Joseph feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Beijer sprawling to the canvas! Beijer rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Joseph finish him?!

Beijer is rocked!

Hans Beijer's cut is getting worse.
Beijer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Oh Beijer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Joseph fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Beijer.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Joseph sends Beijer crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Joseph is motioning to the referee to let Beijer up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Joseph feints and then cracks Beijer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Beijer down.
Joseph turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Beijer takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Joseph is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Beijer had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Joseph cracks Beijer with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Joseph has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Beijer to stand back up!

Jeez, Hans Beijer's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hans Beijer's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
