Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alberto Duran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cenk John!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duran throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Duran rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but John moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
John closes the distance and clinches.
Duran definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
John lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Duran has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed John clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
John manages to stand up with Duran still on his back. Eventually Duran drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
John tries to move into range but Duran moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Duran throws a series of strikes that have John backpedaling.
John connects with a nice looking jab.
Duran misses the jab.
Duran thuds his right hand into John's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Duran misses with a double jab
and John counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Duran is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Duran fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Duran scores with a one two! John had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
John is rocked!
Duran lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
John is still on wobbly legs! Can Duran finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round.
