Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Wu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence Wun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wun has chosen Wonderboy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Charlie Wu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lawrence Wun!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wu misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wun lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Wu misses with a hook.
A chopping leg kick lands by Wun.
A slapping leg kick lands for Wun.
Wu bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wun's head.
Wun feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wu's calf.
Wu uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wun.
Wun throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wun takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wu blocks a jab.
Wu lands with a hook. Wun tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A telegraphed right hand from Wu misses the target.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wu lands in his opponent's guard.
Wu trying to control the position from guard on top but Wun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wun is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Wu looking to pass the guard.
Wun is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wun wants to take a breather but Wu is having none of it.
Wu is looking for a sweep. Wun is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Wu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wu tries to get out of the position.
Wu is staying active underneath Wun, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Wun is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Wu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wun trying to control the action but Wu is working from the bottom.
Wun trying to control the pace.
Wun is pressing down on Wu's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wu is holding on for now.

Wu is controlling Wun's trapped leg to prevent Wun from advancing to side control.
Wu is staying active underneath Wun, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Wun is thwarting Wu's attempts to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A nice inside leg kick there by Wun. That's going to slow Wu down.
Wun takes a swing at Wu's ribcage but misses.
Wu appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Wun buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Wun misses with a wild body shot.
Wun dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wu. That did some damage!
Lawrence Wun is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wun misses with a leg kick
and Wu counters with a straight right hand.
Wun ducks under a wild hook from Wu.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A slow jab from Wun misses its intended target.
Wun uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wu.
Wun was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Wu throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Wu drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wun controls Wu momentarily but Wu frees himself.
Wu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Our spies down at at ReVoLuT!oN !sL@nD GYM inform us that Wun has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Wun has his feet on Wu's thighs here. He's pushed Wu off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Wu screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Lawrence Wun decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
