The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fairbanks shoots in but Storm avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Storm closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fairbanks to the mat! Fairbanks manages to get full guard.
Storm wants to control from the top but Fairbanks keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fairbanks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Storm's guard.

Storm really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

I've been told that Fairbanks has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fairbanks scores with a jab. Storm acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Storm shoots in and drives through. Fairbanks sprawls well.
Storm drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

A telegraphed right hand from Fairbanks misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Storm dives in and grabs Fairbanks's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fairbanks pushes down on Storm's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wyatt Storm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Storm tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fairbanks defends well and Storm ends up having to push Fairbanks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Oh Storm is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
