Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dave Batista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Down Out!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista has his takedown stuffed

and Out counters by moving into the clinch.

Out has hold of one of Batista's legs. Batista is fighting the takedown attempt but Out gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Out chips away with some ground and pound.
Out landing some decent shots from guard.

Batista is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Out is aware though and is defending well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Out lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Out has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at CT + BJJ & Wrestling sparring gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Out got a little sloppy there for a moment and Batista has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Out has managed to get both his arms back between Batista's legs - danger averted.
Out is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Batista escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Out gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Batista has momentary wrist control but Out slips an elbow through the middle.
Out slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Out lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Out looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Batista on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Out connects with a nice short shot to Batista's temple.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Out is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Out is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Out slips a nice elbow through Batista's hands, connecting with Batista's forehead.
Out landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Out looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Batista with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Batista is rocked!
Out lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Batista! More strikes land and this one is all over! Out jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Down Out!
