PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Broderick Brickstock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earl Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Earl Jack was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Broderick Brickstock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earl Jack!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Brickstock lands a left and a right that send Jack crashing to the mat, dazed. Brickstock thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Earl Jack has been cut.
Broderick Brickstock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brickstock misses with a wild combination.
Brickstock uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jack has time to react.
A cross from Brickstock lands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brickstock misses with a double jab.
Jack drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Brickstock defends it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brickstock throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Jack counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Brickstock is controlling Jack's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jack looking to pass the guard.

Jack postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brickstock is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jack, into his guard.

Jack can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brickstock controls the pace.
Brickstock wants to pass the guard but Jack is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brickstock is looking to stand up but Jack won't let him.
Brickstock is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at FIERCE that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Jack has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Brickstock doesn't defend quickly enough and Jack has managed to lock this one up! Can Brickstock escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Jack on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Earl Jack!
