PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Botha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Daniel Botha has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Daniel Botha seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Daniel Botha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Bid!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bid has closed the distance and engaged Botha in a clinch.
Botha lands with a light punch inside.
Bid is trying to stall.
Botha cracks Bid with a nice body shot.

Bid's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Botha forces Bid back against the cage and clinches.
Bid is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Botha stalls.
Bid trying to control the position but instead, Botha has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bid into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bid breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Botha blocks a head kick by Bid.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Botha takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Daniel Botha has been cut.
Bid showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Botha.
Bid misses with a hook
and Botha makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Bid! Botha is out on his feet! Bid rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Botha is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Botha is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Bid!
A very excited looking Jason Bid rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Daniel Botha spoke after the fight, saying 'Train harder. Be smarter'.
