Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Kopp!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cierpka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cierpka is looking to clinch but Kopp is avoiding it.
Kopp throws a chopping leg kick but Cierpka manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Kopp throws a strike but Cierpka rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kopp distracts Cierpka with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kopp throws a strike but Cierpka rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kopp wants to stand up but Cierpka is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kopp fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cierpka looks to land a combination but Kopp avoids it well.

Cierpka gets in close and instigates a clinch.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Kopp creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cierpka sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Cierpka manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kopp looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cierpka with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kopp lands a nice short elbow.

Kopp stalling away here and it's allowed Cierpka to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Cierpka seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
