Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Steve Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kylar Sensei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes to the ring accompanied by Where is My Mind? by Pixies. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kylar Sensei!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sensei swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sanchez appears to be looking for a big counter.
Sensei misses with a hook.
It looked like Sanchez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Sanchez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sensei with the counter takedown but Sanchez avoids it easily.
Sanchez tries to clinch but Sensei is having none of it.

Steve Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sensei closes the distance and clinches up with Sanchez, looking for a takedown. Sensei pushes Sanchez against the ropes but Sanchez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Sensei counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sensei.
Sanchez is looking to stand back up but Sensei counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Sanchez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sanchez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sensei is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanchez defends it well.

Sanchez manages to get to full guard.
Sensei passes Sanchez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sensei is thwarting Sanchez's attempts to control the position.
Sensei uses his free foot to push down on Sanchez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sanchez.
Sanchez is looking to improve his position but Sensei isn't that keen on the idea.
Sensei wants to control the pace but Sanchez is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Sensei lands with some strikes.

Sanchez tries to reverse the position but Sensei maintains control.
Sensei scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sanchez is wriggling around trying to escape.

Sensei seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sanchez is in trouble now - Sensei has advanced to mount!
Sensei wants to control the pace but Sanchez is squirming around nicely.

We've been informed that Sensei has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Sensei is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sanchez works his way to full guard. Good work.
Sensei controlling from the top position.
Sanchez is adopting a defensive guard.

Kylar Sensei dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Sensei lands with a good body shot.
Sanchez moves in looking to clinch but Sensei pushes him off.
A countering left hand to the body from Sensei misses.
Sensei looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sanchez is fending him off so far but Sensei persists. Nope, Sanchez circles away and we're back to standing.
A little feinted left hand from Sanchez on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Sanchez tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Sensei manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sensei throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sanchez counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sensei swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sanchez is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sanchez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A little jabbing left from Sensei on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Sensei keeps the fight on the outside.
Sensei with the counter takedown but Sanchez avoids it easily.

Sanchez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sensei lands a nice short elbow.
Sensei seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Sensei is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Sanchez is trying to control but can't.

Still in half guard, Sensei seems content to control.
Sanchez wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sensei is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Sanchez trying to get back to full guard but Sensei takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Kylar Sensei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Sensei shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sanchez defends it nicely.

Sanchez wants to control the position but Sensei says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Sanchez is looking for a sweep. Sensei is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sanchez is defending against the submission attempts here by Sensei.
Kylar Sensei has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sensei tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sanchez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Sanchez is looking to control Sensei's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sanchez avoid being mounted?
Sensei takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sensei slips a nice elbow through Sanchez's hands, connecting with Sanchez's forehead.

Kylar Sensei is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sanchez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sensei is one step ahead there.
Sensei is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sensei trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sanchez wants to sweep but no luck.
Sanchez wants to stand up but Sensei is controlling him.
Sensei is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sensei closes the distance and clinches up with Sanchez, looking for a takedown. Sensei pushes Sanchez against the ropes but Sanchez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sanchez is looking to improve his position.
Sensei takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sensei is continuing to stall.

Kylar Sensei comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sensei winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
