The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zello forces Mooney back against the cage and clinches.
Zello's coach down at Cozad MMA St Petersburg was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Zello's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Mooney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Zello keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mooney's head.
Mooney is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Bertram Mooney will probably get the nod.

Zello shoots in looking for a takedown but Mooney manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Zello's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mooney closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mooney, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
