The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zahav misses with a double jab.
Zahav falls off balance throwing a combination
and Da Silva Minh counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Zahav holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Da Silva Minh is looking to advance position but Zahav won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zahav controlling the position for now.
Zahav's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Zahav's coach down at Abobomination Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Zahav's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Da Silva Minh has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Zahav fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Da Silva Minh to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Da Silva Minh looks to clinch but Zahav throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Da Silva Minh taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Baruch Zahav!
Baruch Zahav bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
