Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, David Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Edgar Mendoza!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lang bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mendoza's head.
Mendoza takes a swing at Lang's ribcage but misses.
Lang wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Lang missing with a left hand there. Mendoza was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mendoza! But no joy.

Lang clinches up against the cage.
Mendoza tries to circle away but Lang has him pinned against the cage.
Our sources have told us that Lang has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Lang on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A hook to the body from Lang.
A short right from Lang on the inside.
Lang lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Mendoza can't break the clinch.
Mendoza tries to circle away but Lang has him pinned against the cage.
Lang has Mendoza pressed against the cage, preventing Mendoza from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Lang throws a punch but it's blocked by Mendoza.
Mendoza throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lang blocks it with crossed arms.
Mendoza is trying to force a seperation but Lang has the dominant position.
A hook to the body from Lang.
Lang misses with an elbow over the top.
A nice right hand lands inside from Lang.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lang keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mendoza's efforts to push away.
Lang misses with a short punch on the inside.
Lang lands on the inside with an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendoza is trying to break the clinch but Lang is controlling him.
Lang lands a right hand.
Lang scores with a nice hook to the head.
Mendoza misses with a punch to the body.
Lang lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A short right from Lang.


Mendoza is rocked!
Lang scores with a shot to the side of Mendoza's head.
Mendoza is still on wobbly legs! Can Lang finish him?
Mendoza can't break the clinch.
Mendoza looks winded!
Lang unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Mendoza! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Lang is unloading with more strikes now! Mendoza drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Lang!
David Lang decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
