Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnard scores with the left hand. Jalkalukko knows he should have avoided that one.
Barnard defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jalkalukko.
Barnard throws a body shot but no joy.
Barnard throws a shot from downtown. Jalkalukko moves away and avoids it.
Jalkalukko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jalkalukko shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jalkalukko fails with a takedown attempt.
Kobus Barnard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Jalkalukko.
Barnard leaves Jalkalukko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jalkalukko misses with a takedown
and Barnard counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Barnard.
Barnard has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Team AVR in the buildup to the fight.

Barnard cracks Jalkalukko with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Barnard has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Jalkalukko to stand back up!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barnard lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Jalkalukko up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Barnard from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Jalkalukko's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

After winning the bout, Kobus Barnard thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
