Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Sergeant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pablo Jr Silva!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sergeant.
Sergeant lands with a nice combination. Silva backs away looking to recover.
Silva looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Silva fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sergeant to the ground. Silva is now in Sergeant's guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Sergeant keeps moving.

Sergeant wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sergeant lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sergeant trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva wants to sweep here but Sergeant controlling him for the moment.
Silva is adopting a defensive guard.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silva has momentary wrist control but Sergeant slips an elbow through the middle.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Silva is looking for a triangle here but Sergeant uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Sergeant knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Sergeant is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva regains half guard there - taking advantage of Sergeant's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Sergeant winds up and cracks Silva with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sergeant not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Silva is staying active underneath Sergeant, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sergeant is thwarting Silva's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sergeant scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Sergeant thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.
Nice strikes from Sergeant there.
Silva tries to get to full guard but Sergeant has control of the leg.

Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Silva trying to control but Sergeant postures up.
Sergeant is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Silva is looking to control Sergeant's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted?
Sergeant thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Silva is looking to improve his position.
Sergeant is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Sergeant dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Silva throws the kick towards the body but Sergeant avoids it.
Sergeant lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


Silva is rocked!
Sergeant pounces like a tiger and cracks Silva with a vicious hook! Silva is down but not out! Sergeant follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dan Sergeant!
