PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Alastair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chung Foreman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alastair comes to the cage accompanied by Look At Me Now by Chris Brown. On his way into the cage it seems that Michael Alastair has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Michael Alastair seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Alastair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Chung Foreman!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alastair gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Foreman flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Foreman is trying to maintain the position but Alastair is very close to passing his half guard.
Foreman wants to get back to his feet.
Alastair controlling the action here.
Foreman is trying to stand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Foreman blocking the ground and pound attempt from Alastair.
Foreman tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Foreman desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Foreman scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Alastair manages to mount him!

Alastair working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Alastair wants to lay and pray for a moment but Foreman keeps working.
Foreman flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Foreman is looking to escape.
Foreman wants to get back to full guard.
Foreman is trying to stand back up but Alastair is controlling him
Alastair wants to control but Foreman is keeping him busy.

Foreman manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Alastair bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Foreman shoots for a takedown but Alastair saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Foreman is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Alastair to keep the fight standing.
Alastair wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Foreman has him pressed against the cage.

Foreman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Foreman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Foreman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Alastair tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Foreman engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Foreman lands a couple of elbows.

Alastair is working an open guard so Foreman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Alastair looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Alastair scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Foreman lands with a few short shots to the body.
Foreman is looking to control Alastair's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Foreman avoid being mounted?
Foreman manages to get to full guard.
Foreman looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chung Foreman will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Foreman darts in looking for a takedown but Alastair gets double underhooks and turns Foreman into the cage.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Foreman has eaten all the pies!
Alastair pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Foreman is keeping the position for now.

Foreman is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Alastair presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Alastair tries to break free but Foreman pushes him back against the cage.
Foreman is trying to pull guard but Alastair turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alastair is trying to stall.
Alastair is pressed up against the cage. Foreman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alastair down to the mat. Alastair avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Michael Alastair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chung Foreman.
Foreman closes the distance and clinches up with Alastair, looking for a takedown. Foreman pushes Alastair against the cage but Alastair circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alastair pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Foreman tries to counter by closing the distance.

Alastair feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Chung Foreman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Foreman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Foreman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Foreman seems to be working for a kimura but Alastair defends the submission attempt.

Foreman winds up and cracks Alastair with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Foreman slows the pace down in half guard.
Foreman looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Foreman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Foreman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Alastair sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Foreman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Foreman drops an elbow to the side of Alastair's head.

Foreman wants to work for an arm triangle but Alastair is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Alastair has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Foreman is working away from the top position though.

Foreman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Alastair tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Foreman is in Alastair's guard.
Foreman forces his way into half guard.
Foreman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Foreman gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Foreman throws a sloppy head kick and Alastair moves out of range easily.
Foreman throws a jab but it's blocked by Alastair.

Alastair fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Foreman to the ground. Alastair is now in Foreman's guard.

Foreman manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chung Foreman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Alastair has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Foreman uses from the top position.

Alastair will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Foreman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Alastair is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Foreman is controlling him.

Foreman shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Alastair eats them both and turns towards Foreman to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Alastair drives through with a takedown into guard.
Alastair trying to control but Foreman is working from the bottom.
Alastair is really struggling to control Foreman but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Foreman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Foreman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alastair is one step ahead there.
Foreman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alastair manages to get himself to full guard.


Foreman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Alastair misses with a strike from the bottom.
Alastair can't do much from the bottom here.
You can see the frustration on Alastair's face as Foreman controls the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alastair throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

I would just about give that final round to Chung Foreman.
I've got Foreman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
