Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krystian Skowronek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skowronek has chosen MUAYTHAI as his entrance music. Krystian Skowronek will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Raphael Hawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Krystian Skowronek!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Skowronek drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Skowronek slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skowronek perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Skowronek shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hawkins's guard.
Hawkins is wriggling around but Skowronek manages to pass to half guard.

Skowronek has his foot on Hawkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hawkins works his way back into a safe position though.

Hawkins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hawkins working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Skowronek's head.

Hawkins is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

That was a close round but I would say that Raphael Hawkins will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hawkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Skowronek is fending him off so far but Hawkins persists. Nope, Skowronek circles away and we're back to standing.

Skowronek is trying to control. Hawkins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Skowronek stalling away here and it's allowed Hawkins to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hawkins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Skowronek fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hawkins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Skowronek is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hawkins's half guard.

Hawkins is looking to control Skowronek's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hawkins avoid being mounted?

Skowronek throws a strike but Hawkins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Skowronek working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hawkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hawkins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Krystian Skowronek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Hawkins fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Skowronek sprawls well initially but Hawkins persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hawkins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Skowronek is just riding it out for now. Hawkins eventually gives up the hold.

Skowronek feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hawkins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Skowronek manages to get himself to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hawkins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Skowronek escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hawkins stands up and waves to Skowronek to follow him.
Hawkins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hawkins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Skowronek as he avoids it easily.

Skowronek feints and as Hawkins raises his hands in defense, Skowronek changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Skowronek slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Skowronek is in close to Hawkins's body, working some short punches and elbows.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hawkins is defended easily by Skowronek.
Skowronek tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hawkins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Well Skowronek has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
