Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Erik Lara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Leuis Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman closes the distance and clinches.
Lara tries to pull guard but Freeman forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Freeman fails to land.
Freeman pulls Lara into guard.
Lara working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Lara won't allow Freeman to sweep him here.
Lara has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lara stands and steps away. Freeman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Freeman has Lara up against the cage in a clinch.
Freeman manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Lara lands a couple of elbows.
Freeman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Freeman is working an open guard so Lara takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Freeman clinches.
Freeman trying to stall but Lara improves his position.
Freeman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Freeman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Freeman closes the distance and clinches.
Freeman unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lara lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Lara is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Freeman is keeping busy.
Freeman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Freeman shoots in and gets a takedown into Lara's guard.
Lara scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Freeman moves into the clinch successfully.
Freeman managing to block the knees to the body from Lara.
Lara misses with the head strike.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lara taking a breather.
Freeman struggles to land a body shot inside as Lara controls his hands.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Freeman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Freeman clinches.
Freeman keeps control of Lara as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lara misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Lara looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Freeman pulls guard.
Lara is working Freeman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Lara keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Freeman's head.
Freeman looks winded!
Lara stands up from Freeman's guard - Lara perhaps looking for a knockout.
Freeman clinches.
Lara will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Freeman up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lara misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lara manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lara holds on and takes a little breather.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lara is on top in guard.
Lara drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Lara seems to have locked his on tight now - Freeman screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Lara, as he picks up the win!
