PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between EA Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phoenix Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poe comes to the cage accompanied by Unleashing The Bloodthirsty by Cannibal Corpse. The crowd seem to be enjoying Trujillo's choice of entrance music: Jiu-Jitsu . Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Poe enables Trujillo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Poe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Trujillo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Poe's guard.
Trujillo wants to free his trapped foot but Poe is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Trujillo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Poe is just riding it out for now. Trujillo eventually gives up the hold.

Trujillo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Poe is defending against the submission attempts here by Trujillo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Phoenix Trujillo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
