The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Steve Erwin and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Parsons enables Donald to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Parsons manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Parsons is working an open guard so Donald takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Donald gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Parsons to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Donald preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Parsons gets to his feet. Donald looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Donald is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Parsons defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Donald is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Donald gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Donald gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Donald apologises and we restart here on the feet.

so Parsons counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Donald wants the takedown. Parsons is fighting it off but Donald persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Parsons's guard against the cage.

Donald lands a big head kick that sends Parsons tumbling to the mat! Donald takes a step backwards and waves Parsons back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Donald closes the distance looking for a takedown. Parsons stuffs it but Donald still has hold of him. Donald picks Parsons up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Donald slams Parsons to the floor and that's really hurt Parsons - he doesn't know where he is! Donald throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
