Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sota Sankari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masamichi Yamaji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sankari's entrance music is For Heavy Metal we will die!. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaji tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Yamaji has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Yamaji dodges the punch combination from Sankari.
Sankari throws a low kick but Yamaji avoids it.
Sankari fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yamaji appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Sankari throws an overhand right that lands on Yamaji's shoulder, as Yamaji tries to avoid the shot.

Good leg kick by Sankari there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Sankari tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Yamaji manages to circle out of the way.
Crunch! Yamaji slams his shin into Sankari's torso.

Sankari throws the kick towards the body but Yamaji avoids it.
Sankari tries a head kick but it misses.
Yamaji feints a counter leg kick.
We've been told by Sankari's head coaches at Heavy Metal that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sankari takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Yamaji misses with an attempted mid kick.
Yamaji avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A head kick by Sankari misses
and Yamaji counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Yamaji lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Sankari throws a body punch but Yamaji moves out of range.
Sankari gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sankari takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Sota Sankari has been cut.
Yamaji scores with a shot to the body.

Sankari is breathing heavily.
Sankari tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Yamaji thumps Sankari with a low kick.
Sankari fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Yamaji on the side of the head.
Yamaji throws a sloppy head kick and Sankari moves out of range easily.

Oooooh!!! Yamaji has knocked Sankari down with a huge combo! Yamaji steps away and waves a wobbly Sankari back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

and Yamaji counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Sankari falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Masamichi Yamaji decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
