Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Lazaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzalez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Why Cant we Be Friends! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lazaro tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gonzalez swivels and escapes.
Lazaro scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

It looks like Jesus Gonzalez has been cut.
We've been told by Lazaro's head coaches at LOD: Rampage Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Lazaro wants to clinch up but Gonzalez keeps it at a distance.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lazaro is on top in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lazaro slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lazaro seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gonzalez for as long as he can get away with.
Lazaro's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lazaro ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lazaro no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lazaro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
