Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hans Talley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Cruz!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz tried to score with a low kick but Talley checks it.
Talley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Talley tries to sprawl but Cruz drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Talley is trying to maintain the position but Cruz is very close to passing his half guard.
Cruz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cruz wants to control but Talley is keeping him busy.
Talley wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Talley wants to get back to his feet.
Talley wants to improve his position but Cruz is controlling well.
Talley is trying to stand up here but Cruz is controlling him well.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Stephen Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cruz clinches.

Talley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Cruz looking to score a takedown here. Talley is defending well but Cruz drives through and ends up in Talley's guard.
Cruz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cruz forces his way into half guard.
Talley wants to get back to full guard.
Cruz prevents Talley from standing back up.

Talley manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Cruz connects with a jab.
Cruz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cruz gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Talley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cruz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Talley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cruz is in Talley's guard.

Cruz stops Talley from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Talley has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cruz off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Talley clinches with his opponent.
Cruz tries to circle away but Talley has him pinned against the cage.
Talley lands a shot to the body.
Talley is looking to take this one to the mat.

Cruz gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Talley regains guard.
Talley is looking to stand up but Cruz isn't so interested in that idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Talley manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Cruz tries to break free but Talley pushes him back against the cage.

Cruz has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Talley regains guard immediately.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Talley manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Talley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cruz just stands there and leans against the cage.
Talley taking a breather.
Talley has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cruz after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Talley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Talley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cruz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Talley's guard.

Talley uses the cage to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hans Talley will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Talley enables Cruz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Talley manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Talley is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cruz rolls with it to try and escape but Talley cranks on the arm and Cruz is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Hans Talley!
