Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Larken Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ernie Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rose comes into the arena with The Lion blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick lands a glancing blow to the side of Rose's head.
Quick's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rose under the eye.

It looks like Larken Rose has been cut.
Rose fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rose needs to keep his hands up - Quick had a free shot at his head there.
Quick dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rose tries to clinch up but Quick circles away and keeps his distance.

Quick tries to bum rush Rose with a series of wild strikes but Rose uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rose drops his hands momentarily and Quick takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rose tries to clinch but Quick is having none of it.
Quick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rose went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Quick stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Rose tries to clinch up.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Quick!

Rose is rocked!
Quick sizes up Rose with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Oh Rose is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rose has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Rose throws a right and a left that Quick avoids nicely.
Rose takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Quick has cracked Rose with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Quick lands another huge swinging hook and Rose tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Rose, before Quick can land any more shots!
