Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Martin Garrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashley Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Martin Garrix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ashley Vargas!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garrix looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Vargas decides to stand back up. Vargas steps back and let's Garrix get back to his feet.
Garrix throws a right hand that Vargas ducks under and follows up with a left that Vargas also avoids with ease.
Garrix misses with a hook. Vargas ducked under it nicely.
Vargas is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Vargas fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Garrix sprawls well initially but Vargas persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Garrix wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Vargas seems content to control.
Vargas is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Garrix has managed to free his arm - good work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vargas uses his free foot to push down on Garrix's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Garrix.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vargas is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Garrix to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Garrix shrugs it off.
Garrix in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Vargas cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Vargas lands a nice shot to the head.
Vargas working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Garrix looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Vargas! Submission of the night perhaps?
