Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Calvin England!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tino Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki lands a jab to England's midsection.

Suzuki drives through with a takedown into England's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Suzuki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suzuki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Suzuki postures up in England's guard and throws a big left but England blocks it.
England is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Suzuki is controlling him.

Suzuki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. England is keeping the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suzuki stays in close to England's body and controls the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

England kicks Suzuki off and gets back to his feet.
England shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Suzuki as he avoids it easily.

England gets caught flat footed, as Suzuki shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

England pushes Suzuki off and scrambles back to his feet.

England dives in and grabs Suzuki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Suzuki pushes down on England's head and hops out.
Suzuki unleashes a big counter combination but England bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Suzuki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between England's hands.
England shoots in looking for a takedown. Suzuki tries to sprawl out of it but England keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Suzuki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvin England. That's going to take a lot out of him.
England is breathing heavily.

England tries to counter with a takedown but Suzuki is quick to defend against it.

England is looking to work some ground and pound but Suzuki has wrist control.
England distracts Suzuki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
England really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
England in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
England postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Suzuki controls England momentarily but England frees himself.

England gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

England gets caught flat footed, as Suzuki shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

England is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
England stalling.
Suzuki tries to stall but England uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

England tries to throw a body punch but Suzuki avoids it by throwing England back against the cage.

Suzuki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
England sizes up Suzuki with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A head kick misses from Suzuki.
England dives in for a single leg takedown but Suzuki sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Suzuki throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and England decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Suzuki's guard.

England gets to his feet - Suzuki follows without any prompting.

England shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than England was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

England working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

England decides to stand back up. England steps back and let's Suzuki get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calvin England dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Suzuki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. England manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

England has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Suzuki is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Suzuki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
England fails with a takedown attempt.
England shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Suzuki pinned against the cage. Suzuki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Suzuki drives through and clinches with England against the cage.
England is pushing Suzuki up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Suzuki has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but England regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suzuki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Suzuki throws a big elbow that misses.

Suzuki decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on England, up you get!

Suzuki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Suzuki seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Suzuki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but England sees it coming and defends easily.

Suzuki wants to stand up but England is controlling him.

England lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Suzuki throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Suzuki has control of England's left arm, preventing England from doing any damage.

England gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
England catches Suzuki with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

England tries to keep at a distance but Suzuki has taken the fight into the clinch.
England misses with a punch to the body.

England breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
England scores with a hook.

Suzuki rushes England and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Suzuki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

England drives through with a takedown into guard.

Suzuki has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes England off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tino Suzuki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Suzuki has England pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Suzuki pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending England tumbling to the mat - Suzuki dives into England's guard.

England has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Suzuki has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Suzuki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

England lands a couple of decent looking shots.
England wants to stand but Suzuki is controlling his posture from full guard.

Suzuki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. England gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
England throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Suzuki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
England distracts Suzuki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

England decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
No luck with that takedown attempt from England.

Suzuki throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
England thuds a left hand into Suzuki's body.

Suzuki moves into the clinch.

Suzuki has England pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Suzuki pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending England tumbling to the mat - Suzuki dives into England's guard.
England seems keen to control Suzuki's posture.
Suzuki wants to stand but England is controlling his posture from full guard.
England is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

England manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

A right handed body shot lands from England.
England putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Suzuki in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

England tries to score a power double leg takedown but Suzuki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten England somewhat.
Sloppy strikes from Suzuki. Those never looked like landing.
Horrible takedown attempt by England or perhaps it was just good defense by Suzuki, which made it look bad.

I think Suzuki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
