Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dee Waters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Almeida!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waters shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Almeida is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Waters unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Almeida has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Waters clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Almeida is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Waters is defending well though. Almeida let's go of the attempt for now.

Almeida has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Waters has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Waters could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Almeida changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Waters looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Waters sneaks out the side door and pushes Almeida away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Waters has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Almeida is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Waters tries to roll over but Almeida keeps him under control.

Almeida stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Almeida decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dee Waters will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Almeida might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Waters haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Almeida is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Waters still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Waters has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
