PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Radoslav Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rudy Rhod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Petrov comes to the cage accompanied by Wu-Tang Clan - Triumph ft. Cappadonna. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhod ducks under a wild hook from Petrov.
Rhod blocks a jab.
Petrov swinging wildly here.
Rhod lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Petrov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rhod lands with a straight right. Petrov didn't see that one coming.
Rhod lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Petrov at a distance.
Petrov throws a body shot but no joy.
Petrov misses with a lunging right hand
and Petrov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Petrov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rhod counters with a straight right hand.
Rhod scores with the left hand. Petrov knows he should have avoided that one.
Rhod cracks a nice hook into Petrov's ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rhod lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rhod has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A jab from Petrov misses.
Petrov throws a jab but it's blocked by Rhod.
Petrov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rhod is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

and Rhod counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rhod throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Petrov counters with a nice body shot.
Petrov needs to keep his hands up - Rhod had a free shot at his head there.
A jab lands there for Rhod.

It looks like Radoslav Petrov has been cut.
Petrov lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Rhod dodges the punch combination from Petrov.
Rhod moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Petrov throws a lazy uppercut
and Petrov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Petrov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rhod.
Rhod lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Petrov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Petrov throws an off balance right hand
and Rhod counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Petrov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rhod finds it's way round the side to connect with Petrov's head.

Petrov is rocked!
Rhod lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Petrov head around and knocks him out cold! Rhod hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rudy Rhod!
During a confident post fight interview, Rudy Rhod thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Radoslav Petrov stepped up to the mic, saying 'Thanks to my fans for the support. We are going to come back better than today.'.
