PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Lofmark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan has chosen The Animals - House of the Rising Sun as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lofmark takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Jonas Lofmark has been cut.
Ryan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lofmark.
Ryan has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lofmark is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A big left from Lofmark misses.
Lofmark cracks Ryan with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ryan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lofmark on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lofmark looks to throw the jab but Ryan is out of range.

Ryan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lofmark at a distance.

Lofmark throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ryan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lofmark is in Ryan's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lofmark stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ryan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lofmark uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ryan.
Lofmark ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Jimmy Ryan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ryan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ryan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lofmark manages to avoid it.
Lofmark swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ryan.
Ryan throws a right and a left that Lofmark avoids nicely.
Ryan throws an overhand right that lands on Lofmark's shoulder, as Lofmark tries to avoid the shot.
Ryan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lofmark. Ryan does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan looks to land a right hand but Lofmark moved out of range.
Lofmark throws a body shot but no joy.
Lofmark scores with a three punch combo!

Ryan is rocked!
Lofmark finds Ryan's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Ryan flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Lofmark lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Ryan will be OK.
