Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marv Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dyer might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Zack Hemsey – Don't Get In My Way. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Dyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marv Miller!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller misses with an uppercut
and Miller takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dyer on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Dyer drops his hands momentarily and Miller takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Miller jabs Dyer right on the nose. Dyer blinks but takes it well.
Nice straight punches there by Miller. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Miller.
Miller looks to land a right hand but Dyer moved out of range.
Dyer feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Dyer scores with a head kick. Miller tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Dyer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Miller throws out the jab.
Miller throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dyer's head.
Dyer moves out of range as Miller strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looked like Dyer wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

We've been hearing reports that Dyer has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Dyer takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Miller lands a nice shot to the body.

Miller manages to break the clinch.

Dyer throws a quick counter head kick but Miller was just out of range.

Dyer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Miller misses with a few strikes there.

Miller tries to land a leg kick but Dyer saw it coming and moves away.
Miller throws the left hand but Dyer avoids the punch easily.
Dyer feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Miller throws a lazy right hand but Dyer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dyer slips under a jab.
And Dyer counters with a quick kick to the body but Miller blocks it.
Dyer walks into a stiff left hand from Miller.
Miller might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
A left lands for Miller.
Marv Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dyer throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Miller works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Dyer throws out a loose jab but Miller uses good head movement to avoid it.
Miller throws a leg kick but Dyer checks it.
Miller throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

and Dyer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Miller cracks Dyer with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Miller looks to land a left hand but Dyer moved out of range nicely.
Tom Dyer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Miller throws a poor cross that misses
and Dyer counters with an inside leg kick.
Miller throws a hook but Dyer blocks it.
Dyer with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Miller to score with a decent uppercut.

Miller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dyer to the mat! Dyer manages to get full guard.
Dyer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Miller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Miller trying to control the position from guard on top but Dyer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dyer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Miller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Miller throws a strike but Dyer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miller is on top in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miller lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Miller told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marv Miller dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Miller tries to keep at a distance but Dyer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Miller has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Miller misses with some punches.
A left hand lands to the body for Miller.
Miller lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dyer backwards.
Dyer fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Dyer throws a knee to the head but misses.

Dyer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Miller lands a jab to the nose.
Miller throws a jab when Dyer was well out of range.
Dyer moves out of range of the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Miller misses its intended target.
Miller dips to his left and cracks Dyer with an uppercut!
Dyer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
The fighters circling - Miller throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dyer was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Miller shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dyer eats them both and turns towards Miller to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Miller misses with an uppercut
and Dyer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Miller will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A cross from Miller lands.
Miller scores with a nice strike.


Dyer is rocked!
Dyer gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Miller gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Dyer is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marv Miller!
After winning the bout, Marv Miller thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
