PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donsone De (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Black Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Donsone De has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Donsone De seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donsone De!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
De is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Coleman trying to hold on to De's head to control him but De postures up.
De lands with a punch from half guard.
Nice strikes from De there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coleman trying to control from the bottom.
Coleman on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
De definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
De is looking to advance position but Coleman won't allow it.
Coleman slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

De lands a couple of digs.

Coleman has his foot on De's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. De works his way back into a safe position though.
Coleman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
De keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Coleman's head.
Coleman looking for a sweep. Not yet Coleman, not yet.
De has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
De with a nice head shot there.

Coleman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Coleman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
De is working Coleman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Coleman is on top in guard.

Coleman chips away with some ground and pound.
Coleman throws a big elbow that misses.
De controls Coleman momentarily but Coleman frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Coleman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
De keeping full guard, as Coleman tries to pass.
De wants to stand but Coleman is controlling the position.
De looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but De has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Coleman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Coleman throws a big right hand that misses.
Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Coleman sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Coleman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and De counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Coleman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. De sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Coleman. No joy for De on that attempt.
De stuffs the takedown.
De went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Coleman on the wrong end of a nice jab.
De throws a lazy head kick

so Coleman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
De lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Coleman wants to sweep here but De controlling him for the moment.

Coleman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. De is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Coleman.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donsone De dominated that round.
That's time! De's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Coleman tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and De makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
De lands a head kick. Coleman smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Black Coleman has been cut.
De fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Coleman has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
De goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
De misses with a leg kick
enabling Coleman to counter with a crisp jab.
De throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Coleman.
De uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Coleman.
Black Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coleman dives in for a single leg takedown but De sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
De leaves Coleman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
De swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
De swats away the attempt to clinch by Coleman.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick from De lands but Coleman takes it in his stride.
Black Coleman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Coleman misses with a left hand
and De counters with a nice uppercut.

De drives through and clinches with Coleman against the cage.
Coleman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but De pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Donsone De has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Coleman.
De lands a hook that snaps the head of Coleman backwards.
A shot in the inside from De.
Coleman misses with a short punch on the inside.
Coleman misses with a punch on the inside.
A body shot lands from De.
Coleman's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
De lands a shoulder strike.
De misses with a punch to the body.
De lands an uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

De lands a left hand.
De lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.


Coleman is rocked!
De lands a big right hand that drops Coleman! The killer instinct kicks in and De finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by De!
