Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sandayu Momochi !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Nilsen!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nilsen gets caught napping as Momochi dives in and scores a takedown. Nilsen manages to retain guard.
Nilsen is looking to stand back up but Momochi counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Nilsen.
We've been hearing that Momochi has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Momochi shoots in looking for a takedown but Nilsen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Momochi 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Nilsen takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Nilsen is looking to control Momochi 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nilsen avoid being mounted?

Momochi seems to be working for a kimura but Nilsen defends the submission attempt.
Momochi is just content to waste time from the top position. Nilsen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nilsen has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Momochi has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Nilsen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Momochi up against the cage.

Nilsen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nilsen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nilsen there as he acknowledges the shot.
Momochi throws a hook but Nilsen blocks it.

Well Nilsen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
