Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Khatir Afridi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yaseen Kruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kruger has chosen Put The Boots In/ Down By Law as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Khatir Afridi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yaseen Kruger!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kruger creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

I was talking to Afridi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kruger wants to take the fight to the mat but Afridi manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Afridi gets through Kruger's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Kruger can't find room to land a body shot as Afridi controls the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Khatir Afridi will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kruger throws a nice looking combination but Afridi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Afridi appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kruger throws a jab but it's blocked by Afridi.

Afridi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Afridi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kruger throws a hook to the side of Afridi's head but Afridi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Afridi digs a good body shot into Kruger's ribs.
Kruger tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Afridi defends well and Kruger ends up having to push Afridi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kruger might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Kruger will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Afridi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kruger on the side of the head.


Kruger is rocked!
Afridi drops Kruger with a naaaaasty hook - Kruger is in real trouble here! Afridi dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
