The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDaniels thows a left - swing and a miss!

Gouthro clinches with his opponent.
McDaniels jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gouthro walks away with a smile on his face. McDaniels gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Gouthro closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gouthro lands in his opponent's guard.
McDaniels is pulling down on Gouthro's head. It's preventing any offense from Gouthro, at least for the moment.
McDaniels could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gouthro throws a strike but McDaniels rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gouthro is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McDaniels wants to control from the top but Gouthro keeps moving.

Gouthro not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McDaniels trying to control but Gouthro is working from the bottom.
McDaniels stands and throws Gouthro's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Gouthro is trying to get back to half guard.

McDaniels has hold of Gouthro's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Gouthro seems comfortable defending it but McDaniels has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Gouthro is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Gouthro is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but McDaniels couldn't care less - he's delighted!
