The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith Jr throws a lazy right hand but Monster sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Monster throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith Jr sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Smith Jr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith Jr lands in his opponent's guard.
Monster looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Smith Jr trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Smith Jr won't allow Monster to sweep him here.
Monster bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith Jr's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monster passes easily into side control. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Smith Jr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Smith Jr wants to control but Monster postures up.
Monster really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Monster tries for a kimura but Smith Jr is defending well.

Monster wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith Jr, who protects the arm well.
Monster throws an elbow but Smith Jr slips to the side and avoids it well.
Smith Jr tries to buck Monster off but Monster is having none of it.
Monster lands an elbow.

Monster has hold of Smith Jr's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Smith Jr seems comfortable defending it but Monster has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Smith Jr is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Smith Jr is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Monster couldn't care less - he's delighted!
