These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sjaak Boomstaak!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frederick avoids the head kick by Boomstaak.
Frederick looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Boomstaak has managed to clinch.
Frederick is trying to drag Boomstaak to the mat but Boomstaak just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Frederick controlling the action here for a moment.
Boomstaak leaning his opponent against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boomstaak manages to break the clinch.
Boomstaak throws a left and a right that both miss
and Frederick counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Boomstaak throws a series of punches but Frederick moves out of range.
Frederick is looking to counter with head kicks.
Boomstaak throws a lazy body kick

and Frederick counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Boomstaak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Boomstaak forces Frederick back against the cage and clinches.
Boomstaak tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Frederick avoids it.
Boomstaak creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Frederick's defenses.


It looks like Hung Frederick has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boomstaak misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Frederick.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Boomstaak gets underhooks to prevent Frederick's takedown attempt.
Boomstaak wants to break free but Frederick has control.
Frederick stalling.

Boomstaak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Frederick lands with a slapping head kick.

Boomstaak closes the distance and pushes Frederick back into the cage.
Frederick tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hung Frederick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boomstaak scores with a knee to the head.
Frederick wants to take the fight to the mat but Boomstaak manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Boomstaak breaks the clinch.
Boomstaak misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boomstaak lands a brutal head kick. Frederick looks out on his feet and Boomstaak throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
