Murphy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Battering Ram - 'Come Out and Fight' Irish Folk. Daniel Murphy has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedes avoids the head kick by Murphy.
A countering left hand to the body from Hedes misses.
Murphy shoots in and drives through. Hedes sprawls well.
Hedes throws a body punch but Murphy moves out of range.
Murphy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hedes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Murphy drives through and clinches with Hedes against the cage.

Murphy pulls Hedes into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hedes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hedes throws a strike but Murphy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Murphy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hedes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Murphy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Murphy is looking to work some ground and pound but Hedes has wrist control.

Murphy gets to his feet. Hedes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hedes scores with a hook.
Hedes misses with a wild combination.
Murphy throws a head kick but Hedes moves out of range.

Murphy instigates a clinch.

Murphy drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hedes pulls his leg out and moves away.

Murphy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hedes did well to prevent Murphy getting side control.
Hedes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murphy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Murphy in particular looking to stall.
Murphy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Murphy not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hedes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Murphy is working away from the top position though.
Murphy is controlling the pace.
Hedes wants to get back to full guard but Murphy has passed into side control.

Hedes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Murphy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Murphy passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Hedes!
Hedes tries to hold on but Murphy pushes him away.
Murphy controlling the position easily from mount.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hedes tries to improve his position but instead Murphy has taken his back!

Murphy is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
