Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Tarlac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Prince Idowu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tarlac comes into the arena with "Black Honey" by Thrice blaring out of the sound system. Idowu has chosen My name is Prince as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Prince Idowu is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarlac throws a predictable looking body shot
and Idowu counters with a three punch combo that has Tarlac backing up. Tarlac nods at Idowu to acknowledge the strikes.
Tarlac throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Idowu takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Idowu has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
No joy there for Idowu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Idowu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tarlac is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Idowu is looking to take a break and control but Tarlac is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tarlac, as that shot connected.
Idowu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tarlac moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Idowu shoots in looking for a takedown. Tarlac tries to sprawl out of it but Idowu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tarlac manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Tarlac is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Idowu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tarlac swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Idowu throws a strike but Tarlac rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tarlac slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Tarlac knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Idowu on the ground.
