Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michio Kaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaku comes to the cage accompanied by We will rock you. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michio Kaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xavier Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Tyson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kaku throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tyson was covering up waiting for the punch and Kaku finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Kaku wants to pass the guard but Tyson is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaku seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tyson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kaku wants to work for an arm triangle but Tyson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Tyson misses with a few strikes there.
Tyson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kaku is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A nice combination there by Tyson.

Tyson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tyson lands in his opponent's guard.
Tyson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Kaku counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Michio Kaku overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

I would just about give that final round to Xavier Tyson.
